Experimental simulation of proppant permeability in hydraulic fracturing at extended time under bottom-hole conditions

Abstract During hydraulic fracturing treatment, huge quantities of gel are pumped into the formation to initiate fracture, maintain it open and transport proppant. The fracture dimensionless conductivity (Fcd) is a key parameter optimize design, estimate productivity Index (PI) folds increase (FOI). However, these parameters affected by residues which decrease conductivity; thus, proppant cleanup very important step avoid additional damage caused fluid due high concentration extended time staying in before cleanup. Throughout life Hassi Messaoud, Algeria field, technique has been aggressively used mainly four producing formations Cambrian, with hard characteristics, an average permeability range low reservoir pressure (0.15–0.45 psi/ft) stress value between 6000 9000 psi. In this paper, experimental simulation applied using self-made cell determine effect different on under various bottom-hole conditions where variables were used: Proppant type, guar concentration, temperature, breaker closure at time. An drop was observed varied 10 80% stresses interval 2000 psi 8000 psi, up 200 lb/1000 gal temperature.
